Story of My Vegetable Garden (私の畑の物語) (7) On the lawn

English translation:
Last fall before moving here, I worked to make soil for this vegetable patch. I had heard from my friend that piling a lot of dead leaves on cardboard on the lawn could invite earthworms and therefore good soil could be made without labor to remove tough lawn. So I practiced it.
* As tentative plans for names of plants and animals, lawn is expressed with a two-characters combination: (a name of monocotyledon kind) + (carpet); also earthworm is expressed as (a name of pipe-animal kind) + (soil).
