Haiku and Pictograph in EL, "the river moves" by Geert Verbeke - February 2009 -

This is an EL (Earth Language) experimental page to enjoy
the image of a haiku/short poem originally in English/Japanese.
When you can't see the Japanese parts, please don't mind and just skip those parts, or see here to view Japanese.

Have you played a Himalayan singing bowl?
My husband has a couple of old ones, and borrowing one of them, I sometimes meditate with it. In a cold season, the sound becomes more transparent, I feel.
The poet, Geert Verbeke (born  in Flanders-Belgium) expresses the sound in his haiku in the Haiga-page in his website. Here I translated one of them into EL. If you are curious about singing bowls, he is also the author of "Singing Bowls, An ABC."

His web pages have a wide variety of haiku with beautiful photos taken by himself.
Also many of his haiku-related literatures have been published in other languages.
Thank you very much Mr. Verbeke, presented me a couple of your nice haiku books.

In the EL translation, I used "singing bowl" instead of just "bowl," so the verb got simpler avoiding doubled expression.
