These are the photos of the Faire in California (state) for the pleasure
of history in the older era than 400 years ago in England.

On August 6th, 2005 at Japan Town in San Francisco,
Various religious group-members gathered together for a ceremony
commemorating the 60th year after the atomic bombing on Hiroshima
and Nagasaki.
２００５年８月６日、サンフランシスコ市の日本町で、いろんな宗教グループのメンバーが集まって
広島･長崎の原子爆弾投下から６０周年記念の式典が行われました。

The show reflects
on the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the nuclear era opened in
Sa Francisco on July 28th, 2005.
(This direct translation is "The show thinking of nuclear armament
60th year has been (continuously) opening
in the city of San Francisco from July 28th, 2005.")
核兵器６０周年を思うショウが２００５年７月２８日からサンフランシスコ市で開始されています。
This event was planned by Ms. Sasha and Mr. Max as a part
of activities of the anti-nuclear armaments group,
and (I:) Yoshiko is participating in it with the Butterflies
symbolizing Earth Language spreading.
この催しは、反核兵器グループの活動の１部としてサシャ(女性）とマックス(男性)によって計画され、
私、佳子も平和の蝶で参加しています。
The photos and photo-book(s) of Nagasaki city after the
Atomic bomb explosion and
dark thoughts pictures are there. And butterflies for peaceful
connections are flying around them and on the ceiling.
その会場には、原爆爆発後の長崎市の写真とアルバムや暗い想いの絵があります。
そして平和の結びのための蝶たちがそれらの周りや天井を飛んでいます。
Many Americans said that they got shocked because
they had never seen pictures of such a harmful situation.
多くのアメリカ人はそんな悲惨な状態の写真など見たことがなかったので、ショックを受けたと言ってました。

About 400 people visited there in the first evening, they said.
My impression of this exhibition:
I was impressed by the strong power of the collections. The curators
collected several series of photographs and those photo-books, such as
Yosuke Yamahata's photos of the scenes just after the Nagasaki bomb, Carole
Gallagher's photos and a collection of voices of the victims of the nuclear
weapons test in Nevada dualing the Cold War time, Richard Ross's series
about family shelters that were built many places worldwide from a fear of
bombs; also a librarian, Megan Prelinger's selections of documents of the
nuclear era. I couldn't help feeling what a crazy world we are in with nuclear
weapons.
The Butterflies were also a collection of used silk, which survived
through all those eras, calling people to bring peace. I hope we can
collect more joy instead of fears in the next era.
SIMNUKE展の感想
集められたものの力の強さを感じさせられました。ここには、長崎原爆直後の写真集、米ソ対立時代のネヴァダでの核実験の被害者の写真と声、核爆弾への恐れから米、ソ、英、中国、世界のいたるところの地下を掘ってふつうの庶民が作った家族シェルターの写真集、そして図書館からの核兵器資料集などが集まりました。それらの集合から、恐怖との共存を抱えながら生きている核兵器時代の異常さを感じずにはいられませんでした。
蝶たちもまた、昔の絹の集合です。でも、これらは、その恐ろしい時代をずっと生き延びた布、そして平和の集合を呼びかけています。次の時代には、恐怖でコントロールされるのではなく、喜びをつなぐ力で世界を造りたいと、つくづく感じました。
